The Alchemist's Journal
The Alchemist's Journal was born out of 3 months of research into Alchemy whilst preparing for a solo exhibition in Australia entitled, I am king of salt and stone: The alchemical manuscripts.
I imagined what an Alchemist's journal would look like, with its numerous notes, diagrams and perhaps illegible scribblings as a way to hide or conceal any precious information from competing contemporaries.
This was the final instalment of many other pieces for the show and for me echoed the concept of being 'the whole' and becoming 'greater than the sum of its parts'.
